Pirates. World Series. 2014
You know what my main problem with this article is? Last year's Pirates were a team 5 years later. 2 years ago's Pirates were a team 5 years later. 3 years ago's Pirates were a team 5 years later. That is 12 straight seasons of being a losing team "5 Years Later". If you want to have hope, fine, but this guy's argument is ridiculous.

I have no problem with article. If you remember, "the five year plans" from littlefield and bonifay were not all that intelligent.
Lets give Derek Bell a huge contract!
Lets get rid of Aramis Ramirez, bring back Joe Randa (so he can block Sanchez), Jeromy Burnitz!
For the first time since the streak began, there seems to be a smart plan in place. Young players. The pirates have spent more on the drafts than any team before.
I know that we have had way too much optimism over the years to suddenly change and say "this is the year", but things are looking a bit better, and really, what's another five years?
